考研高频单词讲解-1

本期写一篇考研高频单词的讲解，主要是从词根词缀出发写一点个人背单词的技巧和心得，或者是一些小的辨析之类的。词频的来源是这里。

授人鱼不如授人以渔，先推荐两个个我常用的词根查询网站（全英+科学上网）：

前期直接看可能难度较大，可以参考http://www.dicts.cn/
这个网站，逐渐熟悉后再慢慢适应英文版。
话不多说，直接开始吧~~

1. industrial

industry的形容词，注意industry有勤奋的意思，而industrial没有【勤奋的】的意思，只有【工业的】的意思。Industry由 indu + stry组成，indu 由indo结尾变化而来（元音变化很常见，可以理解为a = e = i = o =u），意为 in或者within ， stry = stru = structure。综合起来就是在里面建造=》工业。

2. involve

in（≈indo）+volve（旋转，拟声词，模仿旋转的声音） = 卷入，涉及。Volvo沃尔沃也是源自同一个词根，元音变化又用上啦，e 变成了 o。volve这个词根的同源词也很多，需要单开一节讲解。

3. moral

这个单词从词源比较难记，因为无法得出有效的记忆规律。所以多个同源单词一起记忆比较方便。
Demoralize 这个单词翻译考过，de = off 去掉，morale（士气），懂点词根很容易就能知道他的意思啦。比如LOL中被Ace（团灭）了就非常地demoralizing哈哈。如果每人拿到一个人头就叫做team ace，虽然通常都是adc（attack damage carry）, ap(ability power carry)拿人头。
说到ace这个单词也很有趣，ace是扑克（poker）中最大的。有一种说法是，1789年法国大革命之后，平民获得了更多权力，于是最底层ace就变成最大的啦。
如果各位有兴趣还可以学习扑克中的历史+英语，Jack, Queen, King对应了不同的人物，其中黑桃q（queen of
spades，spade是铲子）原型是雅典娜（Athena），还有很多有意思的人物，这里就不展开啦，有兴趣可以自己查阅以上超链接。
Morale 加e变名词，有道德的状态（concerning moral principles），有士气。
Morality 纯Moral的名字形式。

4. production

源自于produce = pro（向前 forward）+ duce（领导
lead）。生产线是一步步向前领导的过程。
Pro要和pre（before）区分开来，前者是向前，后者是在前面。Duce做领导的意思很常见，也非常重要，由于同源单词太多可能需要单开一个章节写。比较有意思的是墨索里尼二战时期把自己称为duce（the leader），意大利语稍有不同，但词根都是一样的。

5. essential

essence（本质）的形容词，这个单词的词根同样不好记，es = be 存在，存在的东西就是本质。absence（ab = away）（ab + es，e被省略了，ence名词后缀）离开了存在不存在，用相反的单词记忆。

6. substance

Sub（在下面）+ stance （同stand，后缀变化），站在下面的物质，这里的物质泛指比较底层的组成成分，也就引申出了【重要性】这个意思。Stance（源自sta）很重要的词根，依然需要单开章节介绍。

7. detection

detect的名词，de (un, 表示相反) + tec（=teg，表示cover）这里teg = tec是因为格林定律，简单来说就是c，g同音所以可以替换。所以detect可以理解为uncover，就是察觉。同样的还有protect 向前cover 保护。
把t浊化为d，得到dec = tec ，ck 和 c 发音相同，所以组成新的单词deck的词根也是teg，deck的意思是甲板，和cover的意思就很近啦。

8. concept

con（加强，英文intensive，强化班（intensive learning））+ cept（抓，grasp）。这里的grasp还可以是【理解】的意思，英语中理解也可以是抓，例如comprehend（com + prehend（grasp），共同抓）就是理解。所以说了这么多，concept就是共同理解的东西，也就是概念。毕竟数学概念需要大家共同去理解才能称之为概念。
词根cept同样重要，可以看到前几名每个都有很重要的词根，掌握了其中几个就能大大提高背单词的效率。

9. decade

dec = ten，十。December虽然是十二月，但是其中dec确实十的意思，至于为什么十二月用十月表示呢？这又是一个漫长的故事，简单说就是人类的历法是在与时俱进的，古罗马时期只有十个月，随着历法越来越完善，人们在march前又加了两个月，于是每个月份都对应后移了两个，参考这个回答。关于数字的词根也需要花一篇文章去写，先说几个常见的吧。
Double： dou表示二，元音变化duo也是二。Duo就是二人合作，双排，玩过游戏的同学应该经常看到这个单词吧。Triple, 同理可以得到trio这个单词，三排。10.

10. intellect

Intel（between，和英特尔（Integrated Electronics）没关系） + lect（collect）= 从中收集。Intellect翻译为智力就是收集到一起的东西。同样intelligence（智能）的意思也差不多。Lect也是常见词根。
从意思上不好区别两个单词，推荐用不同的单词记忆：
Intellectual 知识分子（n.），有知识的（adj.）
Artificial intelligence 人工智能。

后记：终于写完了，没想到十个单词居然码了几个小时的字。为了照顾不适应阅读长文的同学（主要是偷懒hhh），暂时先讲这十个单词吧，一千五百多字长度也比较适中。别看单词很少，其中包含了很多非常非常重要的词根，后期我也会专门写词根的文章，进行更加系统的记忆，我们下次见~

词根“volv”相关单词讲解

本期是具体解析词根的第一篇，先从volv讲起，因为这是我在文章中第一个提到的词根。希望大家能记住能够，然后更方便地背单词。本期主要讲解volv相关单词，volv(Latin)作为词根是拟声词，模仿旋转的声音，是从原始印欧语’ wel ’演化而来，不需要掌握wel，有个印象就行。 volv的作为词根以为“roll，turn around”，和旋转分不开，所以他的衍生词也都与旋转有关。注意vert（divert，convert）这个词根表示’turn’（转一次），而不是’turn around’（旋转）。本期大多单词为冷门低频词，虽说冷门，但是有很多是专业术语，相关专业同学应该比较了解。不过对于大多数人来说能有个印象就行，能记忆多少是多少，当作是词根记忆联想即可。 1. Voluble 健谈的，同义词：talkative, loquacious。由volv + able组成，字面义为能转的，可能是指说话人转动的舌头，或者是说话人滔滔不绝的状态。名词：Volubility。 2. Volume 意为“卷”，一开始是指书籍，第一卷，第二卷等。因为在书籍（有封面，页）出现之前，东西方人都用卷轴（scroll）写书或者作画（如图）。在书籍出现之后，之前volume的意思也保留了下来，虽然此时“卷”的意思已经不再明显。后来，volume的意思得到了拓展，还能指卷成的物体的体积，大小。再衍生出“音量”的意思，即为声音的大小。 voluminous，volume + ous（体积肥大的，卷帙浩繁的），都是讲过的意思，应该不难理解。 3. Volutation 意思和roll一样，由volutate（Latin） + ion合成。旋转的名词，比较冷门的一个词，不需要记忆。 4. Volute 意为，漩涡状的（adj.），涡形（n.）。注意并非是 Vol + ate组成的动词，而是由voluta（Latin）直接演变而来。 Volution：涡旋（n.），旋转。同样都是冷门词，应用场景较少。 5. Valve 阀门，不是value ！该词也和转有关，v社就是这个单词，搭配steam，很有感觉。 Valvo（沃尔沃）比喻轮子的转动。 6. Vault 保险柜，也和转有关（如图）。 7. Advolution 向某物发展，ad ‘toward’ + volv。向某个方向滚。 8....

单词讲解第三节，let’go~ 21. federal 联邦的，最出名的就是FBI（Federal Bureau of Investigation，联邦调查局），顾名思义，美国是联邦制国家。但是美国在颁布《美利坚合众国宪法》（Constitution of the United States）前仍然属于邦联制（confederal）国家。 Federal和confederal的区别在于confederal通常是由多个国家组成，federal则是一个国家，比如欧盟可以称之为邦联。 Bureau如果记不住可以和politburo（politic + bureau，政治局）一起记忆。该政治机构由布尔什维克（bolshevik，俄语中意为多数派majority）首创。多提一句孟什维克（menshevik）是少数派，minority，前缀men和min实际上是同源的，可以相互加深记忆。同理bol就是多large的词根（不用记忆） 22. average 平均，做形容词、名词、动词均可。补充几个数学名词 Mean：平均数（adj.还有下流的意思），出现频率较高 Mode：众数。低频 Median：中位数。低频 23. avoid void，空，来自于vuide(古法语），学过c、c++编程的同学肯定知道void的意思啦。 evuider（e + vuider，向外变空）是法语的清空和避免，然后字母经过变形（元音变化）到了英语就成了avoid。西班牙语：evitar，避免。这几个单词虽然长得不一样，但是仔细分析实际上都是同源词根，某些元音和辅音稍作变化就成了另一个语言的单词。有能力的同学多记忆点别的语言的的单词还能加深印象。 24. casino 赌场，最著名的莫过于Las vegas了，来自于词根 casa’house’。 cottage就是由casa变化而来（s变成t，加age名词后缀）。 25. dam 大坝，鹿特丹（Rotterdam）和阿姆斯特丹（Amsterdam）中的dam取自该意。这两所城市都是属于Netherlands（荷兰，尼德兰），nether就是低，low的词根（同源词beneath，be nether。注意与neither区分开），所以荷兰又被称之为低地国家，海拔很低，所以需要大量建造da...

词缀讲解后缀篇之“ous”

在上一期已经简单介绍了 ‘ive’ 这个后缀，后续再考虑补充该后缀的其他性质。本期主要讲解后缀 ‘ous’，希望能帮助到大家~~ 先举几个以ous结尾的单词： mysterious curious felicitous (幸福的) homogeneous （考过。同质，相似的，数学中意为齐次，homogenous equations“齐次方程”）很多同学认为以 ‘ous’ 结尾的单词是形容词，所以ous是形容词后缀。但是知道ous是形容词后缀几乎对于我们背单词没有任何帮助，因为还有大把其他后缀（‘ic’, ‘ical’, ‘ish’）同样也是表形容词，所以仅仅知道是形容词这一点信息量太小，不仅对于记忆（memorize）单词没有帮助，反而加大背诵的负担。故如何区别不同后缀是提高的关键。重点来了，ous有以下几个用法：表数量多、富足（richly possessing）表性质（of the nature of）表相似（like）第一个性质表数量多估计很多同学没有意识到，主要讲一下这个含义，因为最常见，而且可以用来解释很多单词的意思。 Mysterious 先来个简单的，神秘的。Mystery + ous，很多神秘的事 => 神秘的。 Hilarious Hilarity“高兴，欢乐” + ous。很多欢乐 => 快乐的，通常指非常好笑，比happy更甚。Hilary（希拉里）作为人民也是此意。 Luciferous 难度稍大，意为带来光的，该单词由三部分组成 luc “光” + fer “带来” + ous “多”。 luc = lux 是光 “light ”的词根。其中 x = eks（讲过），e和u合并为u（元音变化无所谓），k = c（发音相同），s辅音省略。举个例子帮助同学们记忆lux：玩过英雄联盟的肯定知道里面有个女英雄叫拉克丝，那么她的英文名就叫做 Lux ，就是光的意思啦。她的所有技能（光芒四射、光明束縛……）都与光有关，应该有画面了吧？如果女同学没玩过英雄联盟的也有一个记忆的方法，去逛一下超市肯定能找到力士（lux，读音相似）洗发水，没见过的同学去京东买一瓶 ^_^。洗发水的目的当然是让头发更有光泽啦，所以取名力士lux。 fer作为词根意为带来（carry）...
